I borrowed an idea from my friend, Paige, to make a paper chain to count down the days until we leave to get little Miss Saidie. Maimie helped order the colors as we stapled our chain together. Our little countdown hangs from the door to the little girls' bedroom. Each night Maimie tears off a new link, and we are now down to 15 links.
Sometimes I pass through the hall and catch a glimpse of the chain and think about how many links are left. Today, I'm thinking about how few are left, considering all of the packing and preparations still needing to be done. But mostly I'm just grateful for this amazing opportunity to bring this sweet child into our hearts and home.
