Twenty Years?

That sounds like such a long time. TWENTY YEARS. And yet, Wednesday marked twenty years since Steve and I were married.  Yep, August 4, 1990 we tied the knot.  

Wednesday evening, the girls and I flipped through the wedding photos.  I realized a few rather sobering facts.  
#1  We both looked thinner and younger.   
#2  My hair was bad then, too.  
And #3  Steve actually had black hair.  Haven't seen that in awhile.
 

I think it's safe to say that neither one of us thought twenty years ago that we'd be where we are today having endured experienced what we have experienced.  There were several who thought we would never remain married this long and who actually hoped we wouldn't.  But here we are.  After twenty years, the births of 3 children, the adoptions of (almost) 2 more children, 4 houses in 4 towns, several vacations, lots of Christmases and birthdays, richer (2 incomes, before kids) and poorer (ever after), sickness and health, tears and laughter, better and worse.  WE ARE STILL TOGETHER.  FOREVER.
I don't say that with pride, but with humility, knowing that only God's grace has bound our hearts and purposes together.  We've had some incredibly rough times.  Times that could have ended our marriage.  But God intervened and made our marriage stronger, our commitment deeper.

I'm looking forward to the next twenty years.

These are from DD camera...can't Believe it was Only last Tuesday..seems a lot longer than that now...out looking for a Rental house as of today...Hope to have one by the end of the week...lots of driving round looking..looking...what a Drag!!...sewing Binding on the B & W quilt...getting my Mojo back...2 Ufo's to pin & quilt..small ones & one of the Groomsmen & ptnr are having their 2nd baby in Jan 2011...think I will make some Baby quilts...next weekend I will be in Toowoomba...yeah..never been there before ...think I might just have to do some retail therapy ...it's been ages...more on that next week.....
